MrGarden – new plant manufacturing elements of garden architecture in Grudziądz
An investment worth many millions and hundreds of jobs!
Stelmet S.A. invests nearly 300 million PLN in the Pomeranian Economic Zone in Grudziądz. The construction of a plant manufacturing garden architecture – MrGarden is taking place on the plot with an area of 26,2 hectares. This factory will manufacture products designed for fencing, equipping and decorating gardens, terraces, parks and other spaces of recreational nature. Products from Grudziadz will be exported mainly to the EU countries. The production should start in the second half of 2016.

News from the construction site.
The investment is implemented by Skanska. The contractor has completed earthworks and connection works. Works associated with hardening of the manoeuvring and storage yard are underway.
- In the scope of "abrasion" hall, we implemented foundations, mounted prefabricated reinforced concrete pillars and steel girders along with purlins. We started bricklaying of curtain walls and installation of sheet metal on the roof. In the near future, we will begin to implement concrete base for the flooring. In the scope of production hall, we implemented foundations and prefabricated reinforced concrete pillars. Currently, we carry out underground tanks in the hall, where the process of wood impregnation will take place. In the scope of two sheds, we’ve already carried out foundations and prefabricated reinforced concrete pillars. Currently, we are mounting steel girders in one of them.
We’ve already completed 45 000 m2 of concrete slab of the storage yard and access roads within the contract. On the yard of semi-finished products and in the area, where the parking will be located, we’ve already implemented the substructures. This week, we will finish the site grading works of the entire area covered by the agreement - adds Monika Froń-Dąbrowska, chief specialist of communication team, Skanska S.A.

MrGarden is already looking for employees. Currently, the recruitment and training of the management staff are carried out. Nearly 500 people will find employment in the new plant. In the first quarter of 2016, it is planned to carry out trainings for machine operators.
– We would like to gain employees, who want to build a global company in Grudziądz with us, which will be based on modern technology, in which a man plays the most important role. In December, we will start recruitment for maintenance positions – electromechanical engineers, automation specialists, tool grinders. We will also build the core of middle management staff - shift masters, foremen, warehouse managers. We would like to employ workers with experience in our industry, but we are also open to people who are motivated to gain knowledge about woodworking and who have experience in similar positions as the ones created in our new factory. A great advantage for potential candidates will be the knowledge of ERP systems, including mainly SAP - says Sławomir Jankowski, Human Resources Director of Stelmet S.A.
